I started Capex in 2015 because I was tired of how this Accounting industry worked. Clients waiting months for financials. Accountants who disappeared until tax season. Firms that treated technology like a threat instead of an advantage. I knew it could be better because I'd build it myself if I had to.
So I did.
I'm a CPA and FCCA who also writes code. I built the tools this firm runs on, our AI chatbot, our automated workflows, the systems that deliver your financials on the 1st of every month. Not because I wanted to be a tech company, but because no one was selling what I needed, so I made it.
Before Capex, I saw what happens when accountants operate on autopilot, not the good kind. Missed deadlines. Reactive advice. Clients treated like file numbers. I wanted to build a firm where the accounting runs in the background so the conversation can be about what actually matters: growing your business, keeping more of what you earn, and never being surprised by your own numbers.
Today, Capex supports 200+ business owners across Canada. I still personally review tax strategies for our top-tier clients. I still build tools when I see a gap. And I still take discovery calls, because I want to know who we're working with before we start.
If you value systems over tradition, transparency over surprises, and results over credentials, we'll get along.
